Welcome to the DRRU!

We are a research unit at the Division of Psychology and Language Sciences, University College London.

We study the genetic and environmental risk factors that shape how the brain processes social and emotional information in childhood. The central aim of our research is to better understand mechanisms of developmental vulnerability and resilience. We look at both those factors that contribute to healthy development as well as those that are linked to the emergence of behavioural and emotional problems.

Two core topics of research in our Unit are the emergence of conduct problems and the impact of maltreatment. We are committed to working together with practitioners and policy makers to translate our basic science findings in order to promote child well-being.
